Gluten & Allergen Free Expo

glutenfreeToday my best friend humored me and was my partner in crime at the Gluten & Allergen Free Expo in Schaumburg. It was tough for her because she is strictly paleo and couldn’t eat but one little hot dog sample. I went in to the expo hoping for lots of samples and coupons. One of the hardest things about a new way of eating is buying new foods, not liking them and then feeling horrible for throwing it away and wasting money. Well, I certainly got what I expected! There were tons of great vendors and most had samples. The only drawback was that the majority of them were sampling sweets: cookies, brownies, cereal bars, snack mixes, etc. now some people would say you can never have too much sweet. I myself am more of a savory snacker. So one aisle down, I was already on sugar overload. But I took one for the team hoping to find some great snacks for my kids. Below are some pictures of the best goodies I tasted (aside from the hot dog and some Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar!!). We brought a lot of great treats home for the kids to sample as well!

This was SO good. I imagine it's probably expensive, but if the kids like it, it would be a good treat. These were pretty good. A good crunch and would be great with dips. I thought the Apple Cinnamon tasted just like Apple Jacks. The kids tried this one and were not impressed. :/ This pasta tasted JUST. LIKE. REGULAR. PASTA! I'm excited to try this with some pesto and chicken. Yummmmmm. Delicious and NO EGGS! This was a brand new company so I haven't tried to find it yet. I thought these might be good snacks for the kids lunches. These bagels were TASTE-EEE. They don't carry them at my local store so I'll need to track them down. These were really good. Again, not sure where to find them, but worth looking for.
